Dream interpretation has always been arguable to whether or
not the things we see in dreams actually reflect our lives in a positive or
negative way or if they really do help us or hinder us in daily life. This
so-called "phenomenon" of symbols, sounds, and words often does
come into play with thinking about your day at night while lying in your bed
right before you doze off into dreamland, but the analytical part of it is
what is known as dream interpretation.
Dreams have long been a curiosity to many people but one of
the most famous to explore this other world was Sigmund Freud who was argued
to be either as a psycho or a genius. The reason for this being that he focused
his dream interpretations on sexual frustration, guilt, and pretty much everything
that was socially unacceptable. This was mostly because of the time period
in which he lived in, the early 1900's. Freud believed that the dreamer's
mind transforms and censors the content of the dream to disguise the true
meanings so the dreamer will not wake up due to the harsh images seen in their
heads but will strive to find meaning by interpreting the fantasies of their
dream world. Below are a dozen of the most common type of dreams and what
many psychologists have come to determine their meaning.
