Statue of Zeus
The Statue of Zeus was a structure built by Phidas. The temple was created in Olympia, Greece. The figure of Zeus was 40 ft high and was an image of Zeus sitting on a throne. The throne was plated with ivory and gold. The seated figure of Zeus was crafted with symbols of victory and conquest.

During the year of 391 A.D. the temple in Olympia, and the surrounding areas had a very bad year. Due to earthquakes, floods, and landslides the temple was destroyed. The only remaining pieces were the ruins and foundation the exquisite temple had set on.
