Cranky Kong is actually Donkey Kong Sr. just old. (Yes it's the same ape that Mario was trying to save the Princess from in the origional Donkey Kong. After he matured into young Kong he married a woman named Wrinkley Kong (Because she was obsessed with her ner wrinkles.)
After they were happily married for a few years Mrs. Wrinkly Kong Passed away. But before she did she had two wonderful children. Swanky Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.
Swanky Kong, DK Jr.'s brother became obbsessed with the John Travolta film "Saturday Night Fever." After he watched it over and over he became a disco fiend. He's not important to the story, just a weird character.
Donkey Kong Jr. was the main character in Donkey Kong II for arcade and NES, he was the star in Donkey Kong Country, and Donkey Kong Racing. He's been in many games, but these were his most remembered appearences. His girlfriend and bestfriends make appearences in many of the later Donkey Kong games, especially Diddy (His bestfriend).
This is Candy Kong, not much is known about her except that she is dating Donkey Kong.
Funky Kong, one of DK Jr.'s friends, he really doesn't have an important role in the game, so not much is known about him.
Diddy Kong, like I said eairler is DK Jr.'s Bestfriend. He had a co-star role in Donkey Kong Country, and had a staring role in Donkey Kong Country II, Diddy Kong Racing, and Diddy Kong's Pilot. Donkey Kong Jr. isn't the only one with a girl, Diddy has a little girlfriend, named Dixie Kong, that had a co-staring role in Donkey Kong Country II.
Not much is known about Dixie except that she dates Diddy, was in Donkey Kong Country II, and stared in Donkey Kong III along with her co-star and adopted cousin Kiddy Kong.
Once again not much is known about this character except for the fact that he was adopted by Dixie's aunt and uncle. The Kong's have taken other members of their community into their family such as Lanky, Chunky Kong and Tiny Kong.
Lanky Kong is the only member of his species not to be and enemy with the Kongs, he's in Donkey Kong 64 with many other Kongs.
Chunky Kong isn't a well known character, he makes and appearence in Donkey Kong 64, along with some of his friends.
Tiny Kong isn't a well known character, she makes and appearence in DK 64, along with some of her friends. (She has been called a Dixie Kong rip off, but I say video games need more girls.)
The main bad guy of the Donkey Kong country series. He really doesn't have much of a bio, but he is one mean mutta (Shut your Mouth).
Kaos was the bad guy for Donkey Kong Country III, he is a cyborg that came to take over as ruler over King K. Rool.
