

Namco Releases Pac-man, 1980, (originally called Puckman, from the Japanese phrase pakupaku, meaning to flap one's mouth open and closed.) After changing the name to Pac-man in order to discourage vandals from replacing the P with an F, Bally/Midway releases the game in North America. The original Game has been recreated on many newer video game systems such as the "Arcade Classics" series. Pac-man Married a woman named Ms. Pac-man, she too had her one game series. After a few years of marriage they had a baby, named Baby Pac-man.

Shortly after Pac-man was released Pac-man Plus was released. Pac-man plus was a modifier chip for the original game.

Ms. Pac-man was released in 1981, Baby Pac-man was released in 1982, although they're not as influential as Pac-man, they help make up his history.

Also Released in 1982 was Super Pac-man. This game had harder levels, and involved you chasing keys instead of eating little dots.

Released in arcade form by Bally-Midway in 1983, Pac-man Jr. introduced three playable Pacs. Mr. Ms. or Jr.

Yet another Pac-man release for 1982, Mr. and Ms. Pac-man was released under a pinball format, instead of like the dot eating games we've grown accustom to.

PROFESSOR PAC-MAN is a game of observation skill designed for either 1 or 2 players. After a question is displayed the player must answer correctly to receive a score. A players score is shown within the blackboard assigned to him. Player 1's blackboard is in the upper right hand corner of the monitor screen. A FRUIT symbol and a number are displayed next to each player's blackboard. The number indicates the quantity of incorrect answers a player has left before the game is over for that particular player has achieved at any point in the game. The Maximum # of points is 900, the minimum is 0.

Released in 1983 Pac & Pal. In Pac & Pal, you do basically the same thing you do in Super Pac-man. Except you have an annoyance named Pal running around stealing all your goodies and giving them to the monsters.

Pac-Land was released in 1984, the plot line (Yes there finally was a real one) had Pac-man escort the pretty little fairy Princess Buttercup back to the Land of the Fairies. Pac-Land is a land of many dangers. Climb steep mountains, cross dry deserts, deep rivers, and most perilous of all, the ghosts that block Pac-Man's path. And so the adventures begin. A Playstation version was released in Namco Museum Volume 4 in 1997.

Atari Games released the arcade version of Pac-mania in 1988, in this game you play the basic Pac-man game, just in a 3D sort of environment.

The object of the game Pac-Attack, released for the Super NES,
Genesis, Game Gear, and Gameboy in 1993. The plot is to line up blocks in
a row. Sounds simple, but those meddling ghosts are at it again getting in
your way. There are 3 modes of play: One Player, Two player head-to-head munch
feast, 100 level puzzle game.

Pac-man 2, released 1994, featured a revolutionary new Character Guidance Interface and a new more interactive story line. In this game you had is to find milk for incessantly-hungry Pac-Baby, flowers for Lucy's birthday, Junior's stolen guitar, and the bubble gum that the Ghost Witch stole from all the kids of Pac-City.
Pac-In-Time was released for the Super NES, Genesis, GameGear,
and Super Gameboy in 1995. This game featured yet again a more thoroughly
thought out plot line. The evil witch cast a spell on Pac-man, ripping him
from his family and hurling him through time to his dangerous past. The journey
back in time transformed Pac-man into a young Pac-Boy. The Ghost Witch sent
Pac to 1975, a world which has never heard of the hero Pac-man. Through the
witch's foul magic, the inhabitants of a once beautiful land have turned against
him. Commanding this horde are the Ghost Witch's loyal ghosts.

In 2000, Pac-man was in yet another game named Pac-man VR (Meaning Virtual Reality). In this game you see the world as Pac-man himself. The levels looked more 3D than the earlier games, but still lack what Pac-man could be.

Pac-man Ghost Zone, to was released for the Playstation, this game had actual 3D graphics. In this ame you played as a young Pac-man, and you dodged tricks, traps, puzzles, mazes and more. He not only runs and eats but flies, jumps, slides, swims, rockets through the air and rolls down a roller coaster, it also features over 50 levels.

Pac-man also had his own cartoon series called "The Pac-man TV show." It only ran for a short while.
