Sound in movies is a lot more important than some would think.
Sound creates a mood and adds an edge. Without sound you couldn't hear the emphasis
in and actor's voice in an evolving or climatic scene. Sound also brings out
emotion such as that always suspenseful music they use in scary movies to let
us know something's going to happen. So sound can foreshadow or even tell the
story. Sound covers anywhere from vocals to music. An upbeat song might let
you get in-tuned to the film and allow you to enjoy yourself, but when it comes
to slow dramatic scenes they will use slow, often classical type scores. Sound
can be used to make us laugh, or on the edge of our seats. The power of sound
in movies is underestimated. Sound can be created on set or off. Most movies
actually call for the actors to do voice over because the lines were to quite
or other circumstances. Movies actually have crew members that make the sounds
for movies using ordinary every day objects. The do such things as hit sides
of beef for punching noises. I mean we could always go back to videos with no
sound at all. Next time we watch a movie take the time to notice the audio,
or cover your ears and see how it would be without it.
