HABITAT:
Forest areas along rivers and swamps in Central and South America.
DESCRIPTION:
The brightly colored feathers are blue and yellow. It's bill is heavy and strong.
It is used to crack open nuts, which form a major part of their diet, as seeds
and fruits do. They are gregarious birds that nest in holes in trees.
THREATS:
Loss of habitat and poaching for use as pets.
