HABITAT:

Native to the forests of Borneo and Sumatra.

DESCRIPTION:

Both the male and female of the species have reddish-brown hair. They are almost exclusively arboreal (tree-dwelling), with limbs adapted to swinging through trees. The extremely long arms reach a span of about 2 m., but the legs are short. The male adult attains a height of about 1.4 m. and a weight of about 70 kg., twice the size of the female.
